This is the practical install stage of outdoor-lighting work. Once the location and approach are clear,
the fitting is installed on the agreed point, aimed properly, and set up so the result feels useful from
day one.
What happens here
- Confirm the agreed fitting, position and current point still suit the job on the day.
- Mount and connect the fitting neatly on the agreed point.
- Aim the light so the useful area is covered without obvious glare or wasted spill.
-
Set PIR timing, sensitivity or dusk behaviour where the fitting allows, then check the finished
behaviour from the switch or control point.
- Explain any manual override or sensor behaviour clearly before leaving.
What can change the next step
-
A simple outside-light swap may stop being simple if the backplate is damaged, previous wiring is
untidy, or the fitting bought is not a good match for the point.
-
Access height, wall condition and exposure to weather can affect the final fixing and setup choice.
-
If the job needs new power, extra switching, wider fault-finding or a different fitting approach, that
is explained before the scope changes.
